Koda & Espen the two new grizzly cubs take a careful
look at their new home. The cubs lost their mother to a
shooting and will spend the next year at the shelter getting
strong enough to face life in the wild on their own. The
arrival of the cubs, sends the pilot project into its second
year.
The pilot project to determine if grizzly rehabilitation
is a viable option is sanctioned, but not funded
by the BC government. Funding for the care , housing
and post release costs is the responsibility of NLWS. We
rely on private and corporate donations to keep this project
running. All labor is done voluntarily, the shelter has
no administrative costs. All donations are used directly
towards the care of the animals.
