    Dawson's Lights

    History

In the winter of 2011 a small cub named Dawson captured the hearts of many when he joined a group of 29 cubs that found refuge at NLWS. The unprecedented number put a big strain on our budget and many people reached out to help. Dorothy Avery from Toronto was one of these people and over a few phone calls and emails became an avid NLWS supporter. The idea for Dawson’s Lights was first suggested by Dorothy and was met with great enthusiasm by the NLWS volunteers.

The idea is to sell as many lights as possible and light up a tree. Added to this are online events for 4 weekends before Christmas that offer fun games and of course “bulb sales” . People donate prizes for the online games that are then sent out to the winners around the world.

What started as an emergency idea has become NLWS biggest Fundraiser and provides a good portion of the ongoing costs each year.

Dates for the 2018 Event are:
    Dec 1st to Dec 22nd
