Grizzly Rewild

Due to decades of overhunting and trapping as Europeans settled in the U.S. as well as habitat destruction, many of North America’s grizzly populations are endangered or under threat. And yet when a mother grizzly bear dies, her orphaned cubs either die in the wild, are euthanized or sent to live in a zoo because it’s believed they can’t survive on their own.

Some wildlife rehabbers believe orphaned grizzly cubs can help rebuild threatened grizzly populations. Grizzly Rewild documents a groundbreaking scientific study that’s exploring whether the cubs can survive in the wild — with a little help from humans.
