Lucky Bobcat

A young bobcat was very lucky to be found by an observant driver that turned out to be a vet. The little guy was weak & dehydrated near Cranbrook and found help at the kind hands og Dr. Sherri Woods. A string of volunteers helped with a safe transport despite high temperatures and fires and the little cat has settled in well at NLWS

Meet Our Guests

We want to invite you to view our gallery of animal guests. These wonderful cubs are with us to be prepared for their return to nature. Over the next year they will be healed, fed and brought to tip-top condition for their new lease on life in the wild.

Bobcat scheduled to return to the wild!

"Puzzle" the Bobcat will return to the Powell River region

The delightful, mischievous little Bobcat joined us from Powell River.  She was chased by dogs and separated from her family. She was sitting on a fence post howling when she was picked up.
She is doing very well and growing quickly. She will be released as soon as weather permits.

Did you know?
  • Bobcat adults can successfully hunt animals that weigh several times more than they do
  • Given the opportunity a bobcat will claim several different dens as their own
  • Bobcats are excellent climbers
  • Bobcats are smaller than Lynx and their coat is reddish brown with well defined spots versus the grayish white lynx coat with faded spots
