    Moose Update June 8th

Things are certainly improving, but despite the antibiotics, the wound is slightly infected. We are flushing and cleaning along with the daily antibiotics and are hoping for the best.  He has settled in with Aaron ad Adira and is no longer searching for his mom. He has also started to drink his milk, so we are cautiously optimistic.

    For your information:
The potential for infection from a dog bite is extremely high. Dog bites inoculate bacteria deep into tissue, and while not as aggressive as cat bites, the majority of dog bites get infected. Common bacteria involved in such infections includStreptococcusStaphylococcus, and Pasteurella.
