Northern Lights Wildlife Society provides young injured and/or orphaned wildlife with a safe and healthy environment to mature into adulthood, upon which they are released back to the wild.

    Stage 4 Volunteering (12 month)

    Stage 3:

    Hands on wildlife care, feed prep and regular maintenance work

    • Commitment 12 month
    • Work with large wildlife will not commence until a training period has been successfully completed.
    • Daily feed preparation
    • Care of domesticated animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, dog, cat and horses
    • Maintenance tasks such as washing feed dishes, raking empty enclosures, painting, yard work etc.
    • Hands on wildlife care such as feeding wildlife and cleaning enclosures.
    • Participation in rescue/release missions close to the Shelter
    • Assisting with medical care (very limited not suitable for veterinary oriented experience)
    • Assistance with Fundraising/Education Events
    • Record keeping
    • Room & Board provided
