Follow Our Release Route! July 2020.

Hello! We wanted to show you the great distances we travel to release the bears under our care. We have a long journey ahead of us from Smithers, BC to Williams Lake, to Bella Coola then all the way to Dease Lake in Northern BC. It's going to be a long but worthwhile journey. The bear cubs are doing well, although a little grumpy, but we anticipate a healthy release for them back to their natural and free lives.

Please note: All information is general, with no timelines. All routes are general for visualizations purposes and not representative of the routes we will be taking.

2020 NLWs Release Map

Hi Everyone. I'm happy to announce that our new 2020 release map is now online. The map shows from which areas we received cubs in 2019, in the upcoming months we will release them back into the wild in areas that have been identified by Conservation Officers and Wildlife Biologists as giving the cubs good survival chances.

Each year we work towards helping as many orphaned cubs as possible. We couldn't do this work without the help of our mighty volunteers, our dedicated donors and the stellar team here at Northern Lights Wildlife Society.
