Meet Isla The Deer... eating dogwood leaves!

Fresh browse is a very important part of the daily deer diet. Feeding natural items is imperative for good development both physically and mentaly. Here Isla ( from BurnsLake area) is enjoying some Dogwood leaves.

'Louise' arrived with her own police escort. The officer picked her up after her mom died as the result of a vehicle accident. Since then 'Louise' has grown into a lovely young doe. She was released back in September, but still drops by for frequent visits.

Deer Update

The little PG deer, that arrived on July 13th, has left our hospital and joined Kane (the deer with the broken legs in the outside enclosure. He is still exhibiting signs of  head and neck trauma, but seems to be improving daily.

Fawn Update

Update:

The little fawn is holding his own. Today he will go to the vet again as we suspect that one of his lungs collapsed. Otherwise he is managing well, walking with his two legs in a cast pretty good and eating very well. He sure is a little fighter!
