Northern Lights Wildlife Society welcomes thoughtful media interest that helps inform the public about wildlife rehabilitation, rescue work, and the animals in our care. As interest in our organisation continues to grow, straightforward communication matters. It helps ensure trust, accountability, and long-term working relationships are built in from the start.
To help us assess your request, please provide as much detail as possible, including your outlet, deadline, intended use, and any requested interviews, photos, or video footage. This process is in place to ensure requests come from legitimate sources, that proposed use is clearly understood, and that responsibility is established before any access, materials, or approvals are considered.
All requests are reviewed case by case based on relevance, availability, animal welfare considerations, and the nature of the proposed use.
NLWS Media Principles
Our media process is guided by a few clear principles. By submitting a media inquiry to us you must agree to all of these priniciples. These are non-negotiable.
1. We retain all rights to NLWS-owned photos, video, and media assets.
2. Any approved use is granted only for a specific, defined purpose.
3. Approval for one use does not extend to future, expanded, or repeat use.
4. Requests must come from legitimate, identifiable sources with clear intended use. NLWS will check all media companies.
5. Animal welfare, responsibility, and accountability remain central to every decision and are our first priority.
6. NLWS reserves the right to decline any request that does not align with our mission, standards, or capacity for any reason.
