Lungo’s Remarkable Recovery

Lungo’s Remarkable Recovery

February 10, 2026
When Lungo arrived on 2026-01-18, after being struck by a vehicle, his condition was critical. He had sustained a fractured pelvis and a deep laceration on his left hip, raising concerns about permanent damage to tendons and nerves. Lungo was unable to stand and required intensive, round-the-clock care. The severity of Lungo’s injuries led the team to consider euthanasia, as there was no reliable way to predict his outcome. Despite these challenges, Lungo maintained his appetite and did not exhibit signs of hopelessness. This resilience inspired a decision to pursue treatment rather than give up hope. The decision proved to be the right one. Lungo has shown himself to be an exemplary patient, and his transformation has been remarkable. The wound on his hip is closing, and with rest, his pelvis is gradually fusing. Lungo is now able to stand and walk, marking a significant and inspiring recovery.
